About Southeast Volusia County Florida
Some people might wonder why anyone would live in Southeast
Volusia County, but that's just because they haven't been there. The
seaside City of New Smyrna Beach and the growing riverfront City of
Edgewater are the principal municipalities in Southeast Volusia.
Located in one of the most desirable areas of Florida well north of
the congested urban sprawl of Southeast Florida, Southeast Volusia
can boast of beautiful white sand beaches and a maze of creeks and
backwaters along the famous Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon. The
inshore waters in Southeast Volusia, home of the Canaveral National
Seashore Park, produce more sea trout and redfish than anywhere in
Florida. Ponce de Leon Inlet with its picturesque 110 year old brick
lighthouse, provides ready access to the Atlantic Ocean for those
that want to get offshore to sail or fish. With a 50 mile wide
continental shelf, the waters off of Southeast Volusia are teaming
with numerous varieties of both bottom fish and blue water fish.
